20 of the Weirdest Deaths People Have Heard Of

It’s a tale as old as time — or at least 1900, when L. Frank Baum first published The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: An evil witch gets crushed by a falling house, leaving those around her alarmed, confused, and in the case of Dorothy Gale, subjected to several impromptu musical numbers. 

But as it turns out, people outside of Munchkinland have also met their demise by objects falling out of the sky. Just ask the Redditor whose family friend was involved in a fatal plane crash — although not in the way you’d think. “My mom’s friend died in a plane crash, but she was on the ground,” she recalled. “The plane fell on her.”

While this is probably the strangest way anyone has died by airplane, that woman is far from the only person to suffer such a bizarre death. Other Redditors have disclosed the freakiest, weirdest deaths they’ve ever heard of, whether it was by jumbo marshmallow or a gut-wrenching whiskey accident.
