Pete Davidson Purportedly Gave Colin Jost A $20K Watch to Squash a Beef

According to the tabloids and gossip bloggers of the comedy world, a rehabilitated Pete Davidson recently made amends with his old friend Colin Jost following a nasty falling out. Now Davidson just needs to literally mend the fence with that family whose living room he turned into a drive-thru.

Davidson’s erratic behavior over the last few years has led to him headlining the celebrity news cycle with concerning frequency, but the Saturday Night Live star and serial celebrity boyfriend seems to have cleaned up his act following a reported stint in a rehabilitation facility back in the summer of 2024. Davidson, who has long been open about his struggle with borderline personality disorder, seems to have control over his mental health following his recent commitment to recovery, and, as anyone who has gone through rehab can attest, making amends is a crucial step in that process.

According to gossip outlets like The Sun, The Daily Mail and Page Six, part of Davidson’s road to recovery included a recent stop at Jost’s house where Davidson repaired his reportedly fractured relationship with his old SNL co-star at great cost — Davidson’s olive branch of choice was apparently a Cartier timepiece worth $20,000. If Davidson has that kind of apology money laying around, he can afford an Uber.

Per the celebrity press, SNL’s most f-able cast members from Staten Island had a massive falling out at some point following their joint purchase of a decommissioned Staten Island ferry in early 2022. While The Sun's anonymous source from inside the SNL social scene couldn’t go into the details about the fight, last year, the outlet reported, “Pete and Colin can’t be in 30 Rock together. Something big happened, and Colin is now refusing to be in the same building, let alone the same room as Pete.”

The Sun could neither confirm nor deny that the ridiculous boat purchase sparked the feud between the former best buds, and others who claim to be keyed into the personal politics of 30 Rockefeller Plaza have downplayed the recent distance between Davidson and Jost. However, gifting someone a $20,000 watch isn’t exactly a “Hey pal, long time no see!” gesture, as only serious fuck-ups lead to five-figure apology presents.

Given the reported problems that Davidson and Jost’s ferry faces with a cockroach infestation and the massive amounts of asbestos contained inside the vessel, it remains to be seen if Davidson and Jost’s plans to turn their friendship ferry into an entertainment venue as the duo promised at the time of the purchase will ever come to fruition. However, if the tabloids are correct and Davidson has both the cash and the self-awareness to correct his course, then the Titanic 2 may yet become more than just a pipe dream — just so long as Jost doesn’t let Davidson steer the ship.
