You Can Finally Buy a Copy of ‘South Park’s Live Album For Less Than $200

‘Uncle Fucker’ just hits differently on vinyl

South Park has produced a lot of music over the years, yet the show hasn’t produced many albums. There was the soundtrack to South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, the fecal holiday record Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics and Chef Aid: The South Park Album, which memorably featured the full-length version of Sir Elton John’s ballad about Wendy Testaburger.

Suck it, Lion King soundtrack.

For a long time that was pretty much it — until the South Park “25th Anniversary Concert” came along, that is.

The 2022 event, staged at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado, found Trey Parker and Matt Stone performing some of the franchise’s most beloved original songs such as “The Ballad of Lemmiwinks,” a soulful rearrangement of “Uncle Fucker” and “What Would Brian Boitano Do?”

Plus, they performed some tunes from Team America: World Police, like “America, Fuck Yeah.” There was also a lineup of big name musical guests that included Primus, Ween and, all the way from the land of Terrance and Philip, the surviving members of Rush.

On the second night of the two-night event, Governor Jared Polis took the stage to officially declare that August 10th would be “South Park Day” in the state of Colorado, which likely came as a huge shock to supporters of “National Shapewear Day.”

The full concert aired on Comedy Central in 2022, and two years later, a recording of the show was issued as a triple album. But the vinyl release was a “limited edition” just for Record Store Day 2024, meaning that only a certain number of fans were able to get the record, which was pressed in “Towelie Blue.”

Those who missed out on the Record Store Day release were forced to try their luck on secondary markets. Which no doubt wasn’t cheap. Looking through eBay right now, most copies appear to be going for around $200 a piece, with some listed for as much as $400. That seems like a lot of money to spend on any record, let alone one containing a track called “Boogers & Cum.”

But this week it was announced that the album will be getting a wide release on April 18th. And the best part is, it’s less than $50 — although that’s still pretty expensive considering that this format was basically treated like literal garbage 20 years ago.

Also, the new release will be plain old black vinyl, so if you want that Towelie-like sheen, you’ll still have to fork over a small fortune.
