21 Short-Lived But Perfect TV Shows

‘Dead Like Me’ walked so ‘The Good Place’ could run

In a perfect world, everyone’s favorite series would get six seasons and a movie. Unfortunately, there are only so many slots available on the Must-See TV lineup and/or Netflix “Critically Acclaimed Series” bar, so inevitably, someone’s gotta go. Maybe it’s a show that’s too expensive in relation to the number of nerds watching, or it never quite found its audience at all, or the lead actor decided he’s a movie star. Whatever the case, the ax must be fed.

But sometimes, that’s not a bad thing. Some shows only need a few dozen episodes or even less to tell their story. Even if it’s canceled before it’s time, at least it never has the chance to get stale or run out of ideas or become totally weird at the hands of a new showrunner. Some shows are perfect, even if — or maybe because — they don’t last very long.

That’s why user tobythenobody asked r/AskReddit, “What tv show is 10/10 with less than 40 episodes?”
