Jerry Seinfeld Reveals the ‘Seinfeld’ Episode That Made Him Feel ‘Very Uncomfortable’ in Newly-Resurfaced Interview

Why the comic wishes he could be on the ‘Alternate Side’ of history

Drugging an unwitting date. Kidnapping a dog. Inadvertently killing a woman while trying to save money on envelopes.

Of all the morbid hijinks Jerry Seinfeld and his on-screen pals got into during Seinfeld’s nine-season run, there’s one moment that definitely crossed the line for the storied comic: Forcing Elaine’s much older boyfriend to eat a cookie as he suffered a stroke.

In a newly resurfaced interview from 2012, Seinfeld dropped by soon-to-be Bravo overlord Andy Cohen’s clubhouse, getting candid with the Watch What Happens Live host about his iconic sitcom during a game of Plead the Fifth.

When it came to the question of his least favorite Seinfeld episode, however, the comic decided to forgo his constitutional right to shut the hell up, revealing why he — much like every woman he dated throughout the series — wished he could dump Season Three’s “The Alternate Side.”

“There was one where a guy had a stroke, and we were feeding him on the couch,” Seinfeld recalled of the “weird” installment.

All snacks aside, Seinfeld still had some salty feelings about the cringe-inducing scene. “I felt very uncomfortable with that episode,” he said.

But even though Jerry wished he could be on the “alternate side” of history, it could still be worse: At least we got “these pretzels are making me thirsty!” out of it.
