The 10 Richest Comedians, 2025 Edition
Funny business is pretty damn lucrative, at least according to Celebrity Net Worth. If we believe its numbers, a guy like Rowan (Mr. Bean) Atkinson can rack up a net worth of $150 million, and still not crack the list of the top 20 richest comedians.
Which jokesters make up the top 10? Here’s the updated list as of January 5, 2025.
Larry David and David Letterman (Tie)
With a net worth of about $400 million each, David and Letterman make this rich-guy version of a Late Night Top Ten list. Now that Curb Your Enthusiasm is done, is David done raking in the cash? That’s what we thought when Letterman “retired” from CBS, but the guy is everywhere.
Adam Sandler
The Sandman is a good candidate to keep climbing this list as Netflix can’t get enough of his collabs with old buddies like Rob Schneider and David Spade. With rehashes like this year’s Happy Gilmore 2 on the horizon, it appears Sandler can continue using the streamer as his personal ATM for as long as he likes.
Kevin Hart
Say what you want about Kevin Hart, but you can’t accuse the guy of being lazy. NFL playoff games are just filler between Hart commercials for Chase, SiriusXM and DraftKings. He had seven different acting projects on his 2024 IMDb with six more on the way, and somehow he’s currently on a stand-up tour. No wonder so many people believe the $450 million man is a clone.
Jay Leno
When he’s not almost accidentally killing himself, Leno is counting his cash. The indestructible comic is worth more than $450 million, letting his Tonight Show paychecks generate interest while the 74-year-old tirelessly works the comedy clubs.
Ellen DeGeneres
Her latest Netflix special didn’t win anyone’s approval but what does Ellen care? She banked $500 million during her 19 years hosting a daytime talk show back when everyone believed she was nice. That ought to buy her a castle or two now that she and Portia have expatriated themselves in the U.K.
Trey Parker and Matt… Groening (Tie)
Expecting a different Trey and Matt? Both animation moguls are worth $600 million, give or take.
Matt Stone
How did Stone end up with a net worth that’s about $100 million more than his South Park partner Parker? Sure, there’s the cash from Book of Mormon and Team America, but Trey gets half of that too. Speculation is that Stone is also a savvy real estate investor, earning him even more riches.
Byron Allen
I won’t blame you if don’t remember Allen as a stand-up comic — he made his Tonight Show debut back in 1979, then the youngest comedian to ever appear with Johnny. If you know Allen from anything, it might be his syndicated talk shows that aired forever in the middle of the night. Doesn’t sound like a formula for riches, but he long ago formed a syndicated media company that quietly made him worth $800 million.
Jerry Seinfeld
In the streaming era, we may never see another Jerry Seinfeld — a comic who parlayed a successful sitcom into a syndication bonanza. Seinfeld’s net worth stands at $900 million and climbing, meaning he may someday become our first billion-dollar comedian.
