‘Us Weekly’ Forgets to Pay Tribute to the Golden God in Its ‘Abbott Elementary'/‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Coverage
Us Weekly may be about to untether some rage, and it will know no bounds.
As any It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia or Abbott Elementary fan with an internet connection likely knows by now, the two standout comedy shows from Philadelphia are about to begin the first part of their two-episode crossover event when the Paddy’s Pub Gang joins Abbott Elementary’s mid-season premiere on January 8th. The respective casts of the two smash-hit sitcoms are currently on the interview circuit in promotion of the momentous occasion, and, over the weekend Abbott Elementary star and fan-favorite Lisa Ann Walter was kind enough to speak to the gossip outlet Us Weekly about her exciting experience working with the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia cast.

While Walter was playful in her praise for the Always Sunny gang, telling Us Weekly that “there is a lot of foolishness and shenanigans that go on when those people come on set,” the real foolishness and shenanigans came in Us Weekly's coverage of the crossover, as one Always Sunny die-hard pointed out on Twitter:
Now, to be clear, this doesn’t appear to be a situation where Us Weekly is surreptitiously leaking a behind-the-scenes scandal wherein The Gang apparently left Dennis behind when they went to Willard R. Abbott Elementary School. The author likely just made a minor mistake leaving Glenn Howerton off of the list of guest stars, an error that would otherwise be trivial and forgivable — if it weren’t the Golden God himself who stood to be insulted.
In the days since the heretical slander against him hit the internet, Howerton has mercifully contained his rage and hasn’t yet commented on Us Weekly leaving him out of the Abbott Elementary/It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia crossover discussion. With that being said, the crashing of a thousand waves doesn’t have a statute of limitations, and any continued coverage of the comedy collaboration would do well to pay homage to the Golden God and avoid the Hammer of Thor, lest Us Weekly suffer the internet ridicule of us, his minions.
