Columbo Day Should Be A National Holiday
Did you even realize it’s Columbus Day before you checked your empty mailbox?
While the holiday is still federally recognized, most Americans have slowly inched away from the occasion, something to do with “atrocities Columbus committed against people living in the Americas.” Some have replaced the day with Indigenous People’s Day, honoring the perseverance and courage of Native American communities. Others are celebrating Columbo Day, contemplating the life and contributions of television detective Lieutenant Frank Columbo.
