Diddy Once Warned Ashton Kutcher Not to Punk Him: ‘That Will Not End Well for You’
Ashton Kutcher’s current relationship with old pal Diddy is — how do we say it? — uncomfortable. But the That ‘70s Show star should have known to walk away a long time ago. After all, Diddy warned him things could go sideways.
That threat goes back to the days of Punk’d, the MTV prank show Kutcher hosted from 2003 to 2007. The show was originally going to pull jokes on Everyday Joes, until an early prank involving a fake corpse (always hilarious!) resulted in a $10 million lawsuit against Kutcher, MTV and a Vegas hotel. The show was quickly retooled to punk celebrities like Frankie Muniz and Eliza Dushku.
As Kutcher and friends brainstormed new celebs to prank, someone came up with Sean Combs or whatever stage name he was rocking at the time. Lucky for Kutcher, word got to Diddy before any practical jokes were deployed.

On a 2018 episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, as reported by In Touch Weekly, Diddy and Kutcher reminisced about the beginning of their friendship: “I gave (Ashton) a call one day and said, ‘I heard you are going to punk me and I just don’t think that’s a good idea,” Diddy said. “If you do that, that will not end well for you, but I think we should work out a deal.’”
Working out a deal with Diddy didn’t turn out well either. Now that the hip-hop mogul is behind bars awaiting trial, associates Kutcher and Mila Kunis are allegedly moving to Europe, a move known in show-biz circles as The Ol’ Roman Polanski. “Ashton’s so exasperated that once again he’s being dragged through the mud because of his past associations,” an “insider” told In Touch Weekly. “First it was Danny Masterson and now it’s Diddy, and it’s got him convinced that there are way better places out there to live than Hollywood. In his view, the town is just a cesspool at this point.”
“The idea of moving (to Europe) is topping their list right now because they figure that would be such a great place to live and raise their kids with a much more grounded lifestyle,” explained In Touch’s source.

The Late Late Show appearance is also notable for Corden gushing over Diddy: “You have had such an unbelievable career and life, but you’re also known as one of the best party hosts.” Diddy named his 30th birthday party as his best bash, naming a long list of celebrity attendees including Beyonce and Donald Trump for any Feds that might be watching.
At least Corden got the next question right. “What happens on the other side of that velvet rope?” he wondered. “What’s going on inside that party?”
“This was before social media so things were a little bit more private,” giggled Diddy. “It was a gorgeous time to grow up.”
Diddy was no longer speaking to Trump in 2018. “I just try to lead by example,” he said. “It’s a wake-up call to take accountability for the future of America and the future of the world.”
Corden led a round of applause for the two celebrities and their vision for the future. “I don’t want to speak out of turn,” he said, “but are we looking at a Diddy/Kutcher 2020 ticket here?”
Diddy laughed at the idea. “I don’t think it would be in the country’s best interest to have me in charge.”
