22 Movies People Watched When They Were Way Too Young

‘Human Centipede. I was ten’

You know, one thing we don’t really appreciate enough about the streaming era is the ease with which children can now watch movies that are way too mature for them. It used to be that you had to stay up late and hope you could find something on HBO with boobs and/or guns that you could watch with the volume turned almost all the way down. You didn’t even have subtitles, either. If the R-rated movie you wanted was only available at the video store, well, you could just forget it.

Still, we made do. For example, “I remember learning about the concept of BDSM from 9 1⁄2 Weeks, way younger than I had any business learning about BDSM,” user CincoDeMayoFan recently told r/AskReddit. “Also, Alien is not the best movie for people under 10 to watch… the chestburster scene gave me nightmares.”

They then asked, “What is the first ‘inappropriate for your age’ movie you remember watching (not porn)?” and their fellow Redditors quickly filled the thread with their most unforgettable film-fueled childhood traumas.
