The Writer of Elon Musk’s ‘Rick and Morty’ Cameo Might Know Why He Unfollowed the Series on Twitter

Caitie Delaney claims that the cold shoulder is completely mutual

Elon Tusk is no longer “in” on Rick and Morty — maybe because the writers think that he’s a son of a bitch.

Yesterday afternoon, the Twitter account Big Tech Alert sounded the alarm on the most shocking piece of technology news since the closing of Silicon Valley Bank: Tesla and Twitter head Elon Musk no longer follows the official Rick and Morty account on his own social media platform. Despite once being the poster child for nerd icons who helped Rick and Morty become an annoyingly mainstream success, Musk soured on the series sometime in between his cameo as an alternate dimension version of himself bearing boar tusks in the Season Four episode “One Crew Over the Crewcoo’s Morty” in 2019 and the multiverse-shattering report on Thursday.

After Big Tech Alert dropped their bombshell revelation, I speculated that Musk’s close relationship with Justin Roiland, the disgraced former star and co-creator of Rick and Morty, could have played a factor in the CEO’s decision to distance himself from the sci-fi comedy series. However, one Rick and Morty insider has another idea. Caitie Delaney, who served as a staff writer on Rick and Morty Season Four and wrote “One Crew Over the Crewcoo’s Morty,” suggested that she might have something to do with the split:

Predictably, Musks army of Tusk-riders flooded into Delaneys replies to let her know that they are much more informed on the inner workings of Musks mind than she is, and they even went so far as to question Delaneys credentials to speak on issues related to Rick and Morty despite her being a credited writer on the series. “I think its important you guys know your own opinions on Elon Musk or Rick & Morty or my relevance as a human being mean nothing to me but go ahead and keep airing them out here if that makes you feel good,” Delaney wrote in a follow-up tweet.

In other words, their boos mean nothing to her — shes seen what makes them cheer.
