Joe Rogan Is Ready and Waiting for Katt Williams

Keep your head on a swivel — you wouldn’t want to accidentally catch one of the counterpunches being thrown at Katt Williams after he took down a gaggle of comedians and celebs this week on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast. We’ve already seen Kevin Hart and Cedric the Entertainer clap back at Williams’ pokes — today, it’s Joe Rogan’s turn to go public with his response.

Let’s start with the shade that Katt threw Rogan’s way. The comic is never a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience, Williams claims, because the cursing in his stage act keeps him out of popular comedy conversations. "If you were a comedian that cussed, you were ridiculed by the mainstream comedy-geist," he told Sharpe. “That would be like me being on Joe Rogan. Joe don't want me on there. I need to be on Shannon. Joe's got six comedians that's never been funny (that) he wants to push out. That's really how it is.”

Before we get to Rogan’s response, let’s examine Katt’s premise here. Joe Rogan won’t talk to comedians who curse? Really? Then how does Williams explain recent guests like Shane Gillis, Whitney Cummings, Matt Rife, and dozens of lesser-known comics who throw around f-bombs like tennis balls at a dog park? There might be good reasons why Williams hasn’t appeared on Rogan's podcast, but swearing on stage isn’t one of them.

And here’s some good news for Katt Williams — there’s a seat in the Joe Rogan Experience recording cave all warmed up and waiting for him.

“I love Katt,” Rogan tweeted last night. “He’s one of my favorite comics and I'd love to have him on. We talk about him all the time. If he’s down, I’ll make it happen.”

That puts the ball publicly in Katt Williams’ court, as Rogan’s tweet has been reposted more than 7,000 times and counting. It’s a no-lose proposition for Rogan — not that he needs the views, but Sharpe’s interview was watched more than 10 million times in a day, according to TMZ. A Joe Rogan/Katt Williams sitdown would mean massive eyeballs.

Maybe Rogan could invite Ludacris on for good measure. Katt Williams took on the Fast & Furious star as well during the Sharpe interview with some of his most out-there accusations yet. Williams claimed, apparently with a straight face, that Ludacris joined the Illuminati after selling his soul to the Fast & Furious franchise in exchange for $200 million. The comic also suggested that the Illuminati somehow stripped Ludacris of his Blackness, and took shots at the rapper’s “light-skinned ugly-face wife.”

Now Ludacris has responded with a diss track over a Kanye West instrumental aimed directly at Williams.

Choice lyrics include, “They throwing shade ‘cause n****s could never take my shine” and “Never been Illuminati, only Ill-Luda-nati/And I only left with bitches when coming from any party.” And then there's this final warning to Katt. “Afro with the sideburns, yeah that’s my signature/Addiction’s on the rise, comedians check your temperature.”
