Wanda Sykes Was Once Mistaken for Lenny Kravitz

Whoever mistook Emmy-winning comedian Wanda Sykes for Grammy-winning rocker Lenny Kravitz must have wanted to fly away when they heard about last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Sykes has one of the most distinct aesthetics of any comedy star. When it comes to her distinctive hair, Sykes decided to let love rule and grow out her locks until we can’t get her off our minds. She’s uniquely recognizable and unmistakable – and, critically, she’s an American woman, not to be mistaken with a man known similarly for his expressive hairstyles and unforgettable looks. “If I tell you it happened in New Orleans, you’d believe it,” Sykes began telling Jimmy Kimmel last night of an unlikely case of mistaken identity that left her wondering, “Are you gonna go my way… because I’d rather you didn’t.”
