This Chevy Chase and Randy Quaid ‘Vacation’ Reunion Sure Doesn’t Hit the Same in 2023
At long last, Clark Griswold and Cousin Eddie have made amends — but don’t hold out hope for Pierce Hawthorne and Shirley Bennett to do the same.
This past Saturday at the Fan Expo Dallas, fans of the National Lampoon’s Vacation series were treated to a reunion between Chevy Chase, Randy Quaid, Christie Brinkley and, for some reason, Danny Trejo. Photos from the event showing the former familial adversaries Quaid and Chase dancing cheek-to-cheek went viral on Facebook, a platform quite familiar to the former, as Quaid has spent his recent years courting the QAnon crowd, spouting insane conspiracy theories and acting as a mouthpiece for former president Donald Trump.
Don't Miss
Chase’s transgressions are all-too-well documented, not the least of which were the racist remarks he made on the set of Community that led to him losing his last major acting job. With Quaid claiming that David Carradine and Heath Ledger were murdered by Hollywood’s shadow cabal and Chase dropping n-bombs on set like every project is a Quentin Tarantino movie, this reunion is a heavy dose of nostalgia for people who haven’t been following either of these guys’ lives since Cousin Eddie had his made-for-TV spin-off series.
