Pamela Anderson Says Tim Allen Flashed Her Before Using the Most Tim Allen Joke Ever as an Excuse
Tim Allen is living proof that, before the invention of Google, literally anyone could rebrand themselves as a family entertainer and completely get away with it.
Iconic model and Playboy Playmate Pamela Anderson is on a promotional tour for her upcoming memoir, Love, Pamela, in which she makes some unseemly accusations against the Home Improvement star and self-proclaimed “conservative Christian comedian.” In the book, Anderson recalls an incident during her first day of filming on the sitcom back in 1991 wherein Allen allegedly flashed his penis at his then 23-year-old costar before making the most mid-tier, low-effort and essential “Tim Allen” joke to justify the indecent exposure.
Don't Miss
Anderson says that, after Allen exposed himself to her in a hallway backstage, he tried to play off the incident as an innocent joke: “He said it was only fair, because he had seen me naked. ‘Now we’re even.’” If Anderson’s account is accurate, Allen seriously tried to use the “It’s just a prank, bro” defense to excuse a literal sex crime.
“On the first day of filming, I walked out of my dressing room, and Tim was in the hallway in his robe,” Anderson writes in a Love, Pamela excerpt obtained by Variety. The actress and model spent two seasons on Home Improvement playing Tool Time’s first “Tool Girl,” Lisa. “He opened his robe and flashed me quickly — completely naked underneath,” Anderson claims.
Allen has roundly denied Anderson’s accusations, claiming, “No, it never happened. I would never do such a thing.”
It’s unlikely that the only two people involved in the alleged incident will ever agree on a definitive account, but it’s hard not to favor Anderson's version of the events considering how much the purported rationale sounds like Allen.
