'KOTOR' Remake Isn't Looking Good
The balance is once again restored as just a week after we got the cool news that the Star Wars The Old Republic MMO was attempting a serious comeback, we're learning that the much more anticipated remake of Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic is being frozen in carbonite. We're aware that all properties under BioWare have been cursed for a while, but the KOTOR remake wasn't even being held by them. The reins of the project belong to Aspyr, a company known mostly for mobile ports that's seemingly based on the planet Mustafar because its offices have been trying to put out fires for the entire duration of the project.
It's been 3 years since the company delivered a CGI-only trailer that got everyone hyped for the remake of the beloved classic. They followed up on that by delivering an internal demo that made the money people happy, but things have changed a lot since then. The little progress that they made in these past 3 years was seemingly too costly, and the game's future hangs in the balance. In what totally seems like a move inspired by BioWare, the company has just fired its director and creative director and put the entire damn thing on hold. They say that the game won't come out before 2025, meaning that it could either never materialize or worse, look like a Duke Nukem Forever-esque monstrosity when it finally comes out in the year 2033.
